Welcome to the first Stampin’ Creative blog hop of 2018! If you’ve arrived from Gina then you’ve already seen lovely things for this month’s theme of Love & Appreciation. If you’ve started here, you are very welcome. We are very excited that this year we have lots of super talented guests joining us – this month we welcome Laura Mackie and Linda van Wely. Thanks so much for joining us!
For last month’s hop I featured some Valentines projects and I really meant to do a different slant on this month’s theme, but the Party Pandas jumped up and down and insisted I create some more Valentines cards. I couldn’t say “no” to these cute little guys!
I created my own DSP in Real Red on Whisper White card stock with the “Love You” stamp from the Party Pandas Saleabration stamp set. This is free with an order of £45 so if you love him as I do, please get in touch to place an order! I stamped the panda in Archival Basic Black, coloured in the heart with a Real Red marker and fussy cut him out. I stamped the sentiment again on Whisper White and used the Sweet & Sassy framelits to cut it out. I cut another heart the same size in Real Red, cut it in half and framed the white heart. I layered these together and added dimensionals to the back. I layered my pandas onto the DSP directly and tied a piece of Whisper White 3.2mm Sheer Ribbon around the layer, tying it in a simple knot. I layered the top layer onto a skinny Basic Black layer, and onto a Real Red base. Finally I added the popped up sentiment.
Next, I created a layer card, with, you guessed it, more pandas!
This is a three panel card – I arranged the panels so you can open it out and see the progression of the pandas in full. The panel under the four rising pandas is left blank for a message. To create the long strip I took a piece of A4 cut lengthways and added another half strip, joining with a small fold at one end. I added Sweet & Sassy hearts cut from Silver Foil sheets to the plain fold to add interest and to direct the eye to the corner to be opened. Again, I stamped the pandas in Archival Basic Black and the balloon decoration and sentiment in Real Red. Hope you like them!
Now it’s onto Mikaela to see what lovely creations she has for us. Click on the button below or there is a full list of our blogs at the bottom of this post. Thanks for joining us, please do leave a comment, we love to hear from you.

This week’s CAS Colours & Sketches challenge is a colour challenge:
I like this colour combination! Although my final card was not achieved without some drama. I sat down on Sunday, with plenty of time to spare, and came up with a card I really liked. And then I wondered if the stamp set was retired. It was. Now, I could have used it, but it’s not very helpful, if people want to CASE it and don’t have the stamp set. And with that particular card, it wasn’t one that could easily be replaced. So, it was back to the drawing board. And time ticked away. Until tonight, when there wasn’t any time left! Did I panic? Um, a bit. But as my husband Ben said later, creativity can’t be forced, so you just have to be patient. Fortunately, once I sat down and played with a few things, this card came easily. And yes, I checked that these stamp sets were current before I started stamping! Here’s my card:
I almost never make one layer cards, but I really like this. Before Stampin’ Up! introduced the thick Whisper White cardstock I would never have made a one layer card with a Whisper White base. This thicker card is perfect.
So, you won’t be surprised to see Watercolor Words if you’ve been looking at my blog recently – I’m a bit obsessed. I stamped the hearts in Melon Mambo, moving from partial down to whole deliberately and then adding a couple of Pink Pirouette shadows. I love the sentiment from “Perfect Pennants” – it’s so true. Ok, a bit sappy, but so am I. I used the Stampin’ Write markers in Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie and blended them a bit, aiming for them to meet in somewhere in the middle of “perfect”. I really like the effect.
This is a quick and easy CAS card that could be a bit of a different Valentine’s card (as long as your loved one has a good sense of humour!). I thought I’d finished with hearts and what have you after last weekend’s blog but I’m apparently still on a roll (and I notice I’m not the only member of the Design Team). I hope you like it.
It’s a bit late, but Happy New Year! Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop. Our theme this month is Love and Hearts. You may have arrived here from Lesley or started here, either way, welcome!
I’ll be honest, I was a bit surprised by how many heart things I had! Punches, stamp sets, the whole works. To say nothing of lots of lovely red cardstock. So I went a bit overboard, perhaps. But can you really? Where Love and Hearts are concerned? See what you think:
What do you think? Read on for the details.
Three “pink” hearts punched out using the Sweetheart punch in melon mambo, blushing bride and rose red. The stamped heart is from “Hello Life” and is stamped in Rose Red. I mounted these on a mat of Very Vanilla, added a very skinny Early Espresso mat and the base is melon mambo.
I *love* the curvy gift box. Just sayin’. It is definitely not just for Christmas! Again, I used the Sweetheart punch to create a Whisper White heart. The cloud-like heart is from a Sale-a-bration freebie called Sky is the Limit, which I’m really enjoying. I stamped that in Real Red. I used the circle framelit dies to cut out a circle in Gold Glimmer paper and layered them up to go on a Real Red curvy box. I used Whisper White satin ribbon as a final touch.
My final project is a simple Valentine’s card. I used a Real Red Base and then a skinny Basic Black layer topped off with a Whisper White mat. I stamped the three heart images (I told you I had lots!) from the Hello Life stamp set in Real Red. I mounted all three together and stamped in one go – you can do them separately if you prefer. I stamped “Know What I love” from another SAB free set – “What I love” in Basic Black and put it together. What does it say inside? “You”, of course!
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s projects – I really enjoyed putting these together.
Next up is Louise – just click on the button below to see what lovely creations she has to show us. There’s also a full list of all the blogs in today’s hop at the bottom of the post. Enjoy!
