Stampin’ Creative August blog hop – Dreaming of…

20108650_1240300282770077_7381446536416541897_n

Hello and welcome to the August Stampin’ Creative blog hop!  This month our theme is “Dreaming of…” so I think you’ll find quite a wide range of projects as you hop around.  If you’ve arrived from Gina, you’ve already seen something fabulous.  If you’ve started here,  welcome!  Please hop around and enjoy everyone’s projects – we’d love comments from you too, it’s lovely to hear from you.

The new Autumn/Winter catalogue goes live on September 1st and as you’d expect, has lots of lovely Christmas things for us to enjoy!  So I decided to be inspired by that and I’m “Dreaming of Christmas”.

One of the new products we have are Acetate Card Boxes – designed to hold 5 standard A6 cards and envelopes, although I fitted 6 in and also added a piece of DSP inside to decorate it:

Box of cards cr

This was a real pain to photograph, as it’s very reflective!  The starburst DSP is from the Year of Cheer specialty DSP, a gorgeous collection of patterns in metallic colours (champagne, gold, silver & copper), while the belly band is made with Real Red card stock, a strip from another new specialty DSP, Merry Music, gorgeous Real Red Solid Ribbon and the copper foil trees were cut out using the Card Front Builder Thinlit Dies.

Hopefully you’re excited to see what’s in the box too!

Wise Men from Afar - all

I used the Wise Men from Afar stampset, a gorgeous, traditional-feel set of  images, I think.  There are three basic designs, although no two cards are exactly alike.  The six cards all have thick Whisper White bases, and the Kings are stamped in Fresh Fig and Real Red as well as being heat embossed in gold and copper.  I’ve even managed to just give them metallic crowns in a couple of them!  The star is always metallic heat embossed and I’ve added some strips of the Merry Music DSP, which I created a sepia effect on using Sahara Sand.  This was especially suitable as one of the carols used is “We Three Kings of Orient, are”.

Here’s a few of the cards, in full:

I hope you like today’s project – I had fun putting this together and I’m looking forward to creating more of them as gifts.

Stampin’ Creative Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

stampin_creative_header_06

Hello!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop for May.  Our theme this time is Sneak Peeks of the new, almost live annual catalogue!  You are here with me, Caro Thomas and if you’ve arrived from the amazing Queen Pip you’ll have seen some wonderful things already.

My sneak peeks are really quite simple. I have to admit that this month’s hop actually caught me on the hop (!) as I came away on holiday without having planned. Fortunately, I did a load of playing with new products recently and I’d even taken photos of them!  My first card mixes old and new – new in-colours and stampset, along with an old stampset and framelit die, but they both carry on into the new catalogue:

The base is the gorgeous Tranquil Tide and I went for quite a few layers here as you’ll see. I stamped the leaves from the gorgeous new stampset Oh So Eclectic in Tranquil Tide on my smallest Whisper White layer – I love the textured effect that the stamp gives. I stamped the sentiment from You’re So Sweet in Berry Burst and then cut out using the framelit from the Mini Treatbag coordinating set. I cut another banner in Berry Burst then snipped it in half to add a flash of colour. I glued them together with snail and then popped up in dimensionals.

I thought I would also show you some of the bookmarks I’ve made – these will be sent out with the new annual catalogues to all my customers, so if you want one you’ll need to buy something quickly!  These bookmarks have been on a few Facebook posts, but I haven’t blogged about them and thought I’d share them now. They now look even better in real life, as my in-colour ribbons have arrived and I’ve completed them, ready to post.

I cut thick Whisper White into 5cms strips along the width, so the strips were 297mm long. I cut those in half, then punched using the scalloped tag topper punch. I used Oh So Eclectic for my images (completely different to the leaves, right?  I’m thinking of renaming this set to Oh So Versatile!) and used all the new in-colours along with sentiments from Sunshine Sayings and Vertical Greetings, to complete them.

That’s it from me, I hope you’ve enjoyed my projects. Now on to Emma for some more gorgeous sneak peeks. Click on the button below, or there’s a full list of the links at the bottom of the post.

See you on Wednesday.

Oh So Eclectic – another sneak peak

Hello!

I recently shared a card using the coming soon Oh So Eclectic stamp set and the new in colours. Today’s card uses both again.

Sneak Peek, In Colours, Thank You

I just love the two step stamps of the watermark style background paired with the detailed flower. Here, I used the gorgeous, I’m so excited I can’t bear it, Lemon Lime Twist (let’s just say I have a cardigan in this colour) paired with Fresh Fig.   I repeated the simple layout from before, but this time went with a one layer Thick Whisper White card and then stamped my sentiment from Thankful Thoughts in Fresh Fig cut out with then layering oval framelits , layered onto a larger Stitched Oval framelit in Fresh Fig.  You’ll notice that I stamped off the Lemon Lime Twist backgrounds apart from one, for contrast.  I glued the ovals together and then popped them up using dimensionals. And that’s it!

You’re Just Lovely sneak peak

Hello!

I had a lovely long weekend with time for lots of crafting!  I planned projects for our upcoming retreat on June 10th, played with new products, made in-colour bookmarks to send out to my customers with their catalogues and also started working on a challenge set by my upline Eimear – to create and send 10 cards using our stashes of DSP!  I have a lot of DSP and was surprised at how much fun I had cutting and using it!  We demos are renowned for looking at it, stroking it and saving it but not actually using it!  Those cards will feature soon.  But today I want to share a Thank You card I created.  My recipient won’t get it until tomorrow but I’m confident she doesn’t look at my blog so I’m safe to share it!

I *love* the new in-colours and I think you are going to, too.  For the first time, I love all of them and can’t wait to have some classes featuring them.  I also used the new stamp set Oh So Eclectic and although I was a bit ho-hum about to to start with, it has really grown on me.  So versatile and the two-stamp flowers are gorgeous.

IMG_1826 cr

My base is thick Whisper White, with a skinny Berry Burst mat surrounding the top layer of Whisper White.  I stamped the background stamp first, in Powder Pink, with the outline stamp on top in Berry Burst.  The sentiment from the same set is stamped in Berry Burst – both these are new in-colours.  I used a Thank You sentiment inside.  This is a quick and easy but elegant card, and straightforward to reproduce.  It looks great as a one layer card too.

A hint for lining your flower stamps up – this is a clear mount set but I really didn’t want to use the stamp-a-ma-jig – too fiddly and time-consuming for this card.  I discovered that the rubber outline of the detailed stamp marries up to the larger background shape, making it easy to align them.

Hope you like it and it whets your appetite for all the wonderful new things coming soon!  And don’t forget we are taking bookings for our Summer Luxury Craft Retreat on Saturday 10th June.  See more about it here or on my Wiltshire Luxury Craft Retreats page.

See you at the weekend!

Made for Men with Stampin Creative

stampin_creative_header_06

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop!  You may have arrived from Eimear or started here, either way, I’m very glad you’ve stopped by.  You’ll already have been inspired by Eimear’s projects, now grab a coffee and hop around with us for this month’s theme of “Made for Men”.

This month’s theme fits in very well with a challenge from Eimear, who is my upline as well as being a friend and another member of this blog hop!  We were challenged to make a masculine card without using a masculine stamp set, which was a great challenge for me as I don’t actually have any overtly masculine stamp sets and was scratching my head for this!

My card also features a couple of new products from the upcoming annual catalogue as I couldn’t resist them!

Birthday Bright, Sneak peek, masculine,

The base is Early Espresso with a layer of Very Vanilla.  I cut a piece of the new Wood Textures DSP stack into strips of differing widths and layered those together.  I added a simple knotted piece of the new Copper Trim ribbon and adhered that to the DSP with snail.  Next I created the glossy sentiment by rubbing embossing buddy over another piece of Very Vanilla, then stamping the sentiment stamps from Birthday Bright (retiring but still available) in Versamark followed by Early Espresso, adding clear embossing powder and heating.  I love the effect that gives!  I cut it out using the stitched framelit dies and popped it up with dimensionals.

And that’s it!  Like it?  To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – 2MY7DVKJ – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.

If your list adds up to £99 or more, consider signing up as a demo and joining my team of Crafting Maestros.  It’s a great deal – choose £130’s worth of products, pay £99 and no P&P. If you are interested and want my help  choosing your starter kit, just get in touch.  If you know what you want click on the “Join my team” button on the right and get started.

Finally, don’t forget we are taking bookings for our Summer Luxury Craft Retreat on Saturday 10th June See more about it here or on my Wiltshire Luxury Craft Retreats page.

Now onto Louise at Stampin’ Delight, for some more masculine inspiration!

See you on Wednesday.

Stampin’ Creative Sneak Peek 2017

Hello!

Welcome to the final Stamping’ Creative blog hop of 2016.  It has certainly been an interesting year, with so many twists and turns both personally and across the world.  If you’ve hopped to me from Louise or started here, it’s lovely to have you.  Our theme this month is of course, sneak peeks from the almost live Spring/Summer and Sale-a-bration catalogues.  Demos are always able to pre-order and so we have plenty to show you!

One of the free stamp sets you can choose with an order of 45 pounds or more (forgive the formality, I’m typing on a US keyboard and have no idea where the symbol is) is called So Very Much and it’s a lovely versatile set with “Thank You” as the main sentiment.  I took my colour inspiration from the Spring/Summer catalogue as well and decided to use emboss resist and metallics to make my sentiment really stand out.

dsc_3039

My card base is Elegant Eggplant and is 4.5 inches square.  The mat is Whisper White and is 4.25 inches square.  I rubbed embossing buddy over the Whisper White, stamped the “Thank You” in Versamark and then heat embossed in metallic gold – I never get tired of seeing the transformation from dull power to shiny metal!  I used four colors for my sponging – I almost didn’t add the Crushed Curry but I think the small amounts of it really add something and echo the gold.  The other three are Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay and Elegant Eggplant.  Inside I stamped “So Very Much” from the same set.

Inspired by a previous blog hop post of Mikaela’s, I’ve recently been making boxes to put some presents in (remember her beautiful red paired with embossed white and matching ribbon?) and I decided to make a box to show you as well.  I think everyone has fallen in love with a set called Beautiful You, especially as Stampin’ Up! have also introduced watercoloring pencils, which are just made for it.  I decided though, to use one of the sentiment stamps to create DSP for my box lid.

dsc_3038

The base is Emerald Envy and I’ve stamped the sentiment in the same colour ink on Whisper White and then made my box lid.  The base of the box is 2.5 inches square and its sides are 3 inches – perfect for a small gift!  I used the gorgeous Emerald Envy ribbon from the annual catalogue to tie it all together.

That’s it from me!  I hope you’ve liked today’s projects – click below to hop to Gina, or there’s a full list of all the links at the end of this post.

Spring/Summer 2017 sneak peek #2

Hello!

Sorry my non-appearance on Sunday – I do seem to be struggling to keep on top of my blog posts as well as general life at the moment!

Today it’s a quick post to show you some cute card toppers we made at OnStage – remember, if you want to get sneak peeks, early chances to play with product and lots of free goodies, you just need to sign up to my team.

Anyway, back to the sneak peeks – these showcase the Sealed with Love photopolymer stamp set, which contains 27 stamps and is a lot more versatile than you might think at first glance – it’s not just for Valentine’s.  It also showcases the Sending Love DSP stack and embellishments.

img_1645-copyrightimg_1646-copyright

Aren’t these adorable?  I think I would have skipped over this set if we hadn’t actually played with it, but now it’s firmly on my wishlist.

See you on Thursday for more sneak peeks (I really will try!).
