Welcome to the first Stampin’ Creative blog hop of 2018! If you’ve arrived from Gina then you’ve already seen lovely things for this month’s theme of Love & Appreciation. If you’ve started here, you are very welcome. We are very excited that this year we have lots of super talented guests joining us – this month we welcome Laura Mackie and Linda van Wely. Thanks so much for joining us!
For last month’s hop I featured some Valentines projects and I really meant to do a different slant on this month’s theme, but the Party Pandas jumped up and down and insisted I create some more Valentines cards. I couldn’t say “no” to these cute little guys!
I created my own DSP in Real Red on Whisper White card stock with the “Love You” stamp from the Party Pandas Saleabration stamp set. This is free with an order of £45 so if you love him as I do, please get in touch to place an order! I stamped the panda in Archival Basic Black, coloured in the heart with a Real Red marker and fussy cut him out. I stamped the sentiment again on Whisper White and used the Sweet & Sassy framelits to cut it out. I cut another heart the same size in Real Red, cut it in half and framed the white heart. I layered these together and added dimensionals to the back. I layered my pandas onto the DSP directly and tied a piece of Whisper White 3.2mm Sheer Ribbon around the layer, tying it in a simple knot. I layered the top layer onto a skinny Basic Black layer, and onto a Real Red base. Finally I added the popped up sentiment.
Next, I created a layer card, with, you guessed it, more pandas!
This is a three panel card – I arranged the panels so you can open it out and see the progression of the pandas in full. The panel under the four rising pandas is left blank for a message. To create the long strip I took a piece of A4 cut lengthways and added another half strip, joining with a small fold at one end. I added Sweet & Sassy hearts cut from Silver Foil sheets to the plain fold to add interest and to direct the eye to the corner to be opened. Again, I stamped the pandas in Archival Basic Black and the balloon decoration and sentiment in Real Red. Hope you like them!
Now it’s onto Mikaela to see what lovely creations she has for us. Click on the button below or there is a full list of our blogs at the bottom of this post. Thanks for joining us, please do leave a comment, we love to hear from you.
See you soon.

Today I’ve made a quick and simple card, showcasing a Sale-A-Bration stamp set that is only around for a few weeks! So if you like it, get your order in quick.
While I say “quick and simple” it was anything but while I was playing around with the design. The finished product? Absolutely it’s quick and easy. But getting there wasn’t. But sometimes it just happens that way.
Before I show you the card, I just want to highlight Sale-A-Bration. If you’re not aware, every year from the new Spring/Summer Occasions catalogue going live to the end of March, Stampin’ Up! have a period called Sale-A-Bration. What does it mean? In one word – freebies! For every £45 spent (from the Annual or Spring/Summer catalogues or even the Clearance Rack), you choose a free item from the special, limited edition selection in the Sale-A-Bration brochure. There’s a link on the right, if you want to browse and start working on your wishlist. It’s also a great time to join up as a demonstrator (immediate 20% discount on your orders, anyone?) as instead of the normal joining offer of £130’s worth of supplies for £99 you get £160 and it’s entirely up to you what you have, as you choose from the current catalogues. Anyway, onto today’s card.
I wanted to make a masculine birthday card as we need to send one and this is what I came up with:
The base is Early Espresso and the mat is Very Vanilla. To create the sky effect, I took four stampin’ write markers, in Marina Mist, Pool Party, Soft Sky and Blushing Bride and scribbled on a large clear block, taking care to blend the colours and to use the stronger colours sparingly. I add just a few dashes of the Blushing Bride. I spritzed the whole block with water and then put the Very Vanilla mat on top of the block, smoothed gently and lifted it off. After waiting for it to dry (you may notice that I didn’t wait *quite* long enough), I stamped the plane, sentiment and smoke trail in Early Espresso. I glued it together with Tombow and there we have it, a quick and easy birthday card!
Hope you like it.
Hello and welcome to our final blog hop for 2015 – this year has raced by! You may have arrived here from Mikaela or started here – either way, welcome!
This month’s theme is to give a sneak peek of the Spring/Summer catalogue and Sale-a-bration (SAB) – if you’re new to Stampin’ Up! this is the best time to buy as you get freebies for every 45 pounds you spend! Apologies for the missing “pound” sign – I’m visiting my brother & sister in America and their keyboards are different!
I love the new catalogue and the SAB freebies – hope you do too!
First, I made a fun birthday card using the Hello stamp set. The party hat reminds me of the one from the dinosaur set in the Annual Catalogue, which I also fell for! Inside, I used the Birthday Girl stamp, from the same set. My sister, who is a Stampin’ Up! demo in the US said this was a very “me” card:
I have to say that her photo set-up is better than mine – by the time you read this I’m hoping Santa will have been kind!
I used a couple of colours here – Lost Lagoon and Rose Red – I love the way they go together!
Next I took advantage of my sister’s stash and used the Rose Garden framelit dies and Rose Wonder stamp set (available as a bundle):
This is an intricate die, but the new catalogue has a new tool to help get all those fiddly pieces removed – the Big Shot die brush – it was first thing I ordered in my pre-order! Want to get things early? Sign up as a demo 🙂
So, this easy card has a base of Garden Green, Vanilla mat and the rose in Rose Red (again), along with the sentiment.
I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas – thanks for hopping along with us this year, looking forward to sharing with you in 2016!
Next is Emma, I’m sure you’ll enjoy her projects (there’s a full list below if you need it).
