I promised another card from my embossing paste technique class and here it is!
The base is Cherry Cobbler and there’s a skinny Basic Black border underneath the top layer. I used the circular mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks (annual catalogue) and applied the white embossing paste and quickly sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on top, before it dried. I cut a partial circle out of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and added it to the bottom right corner of the Whisper White layer. I stamped the sentiment from Flurry of Wishes in Cherry Cobbler and used the Triple Banner punch on one end. I popped the banner up on dimensionals.
I love this card with all its sparkle – hope you do too!
See you next weekend – I’ve got one more embossing paste Christmas card to show you!
I have another card from the weekend’s stamp-a-stack to share with you today. I mentioned recently that heat embossing, especially with metallics is one of the things that drew me to sign up with Stampin’ Up!. I’m not the only one – people just love watching the dull powder suddenly transform into a shiny metallic image. So no real surprise that people loved this card:
The tree and the ornaments are from the Twinkle Trees set (photopolymer, Autumn/Winter catalogue). The outline is stamped in Emerald Envy, the tinsel is in Real Red and the baubles are heat embossed in gold. The sentiment (pretty much my all time favourite Christmas sentiment) is from Flurry of Wishes and is stamped in Real Red. My card base is Emerald Envy and I have a Real Red skinny border around the Whisper White top layer. I love this combination of colours for Christmas, hope you do too!
See you on Thursday for CAS Colours & Sketches – there’s still time to enter this week’s challenge!
I seem to be fixated on Christmas – early days I know, but my project for our upcoming luxury Craft Retreat is a Christmas stamp-a-stack so I’m blaming that! Having said that, with the number of cards I make to send each year (around 90-100), it’s good to get ahead!
Today’s card is quick and simple – great if you want to mass produce them:
My base is Real Red and my top layer is Whisper White surrounded by a skinny Smoky Slate border. I stamped Merry Christmas from Flurry of Wishes (annual catalogue) in Real Red and then used the snowflake from Tin of Tags and stamped that in Smoky Slate randomly around the sentiment. Where I stamped partial snowflakes I made sure I stamped the centre (second time around!) so I could add a large rhinestone in the centre, for a bit of Christmas sparkle.
Hope you like it! See you on Thursday for CAS Colours & Sketches – you still have time to enter this week’s challenge if you’re quick!
The new Autumn/Winter catalogue is live! Now, I’m a bit behind the curve announcing this, as it went live on the 1st, so apologies for that. But I’ve been giving you sneak peeks for a while now and I hope it’s whetted your appetite! If you’d like to receive a copy please let me know and I’ll happily send one out. I’ll be updating the side bar soon so that you can view it online too. If you’d like to shop with me, click on the button on the sidebar and if your order comes to less than £150 please use this month’s hostess code – 2ZW9ECQZ – to receive a thank you gift from me. If your order is over £150 please don’t use it, as you’ll earn your own hostess points (and still get a thank you gift!).
So, today’s card – it’s a simple, CAS Christmas card, using a non-Christmassy set for the main image:
This is a one layer card so I’ve used the thick Whisper White as my base. Since Stampin’ Up! brought this out I’ve done a lot more one layer cards – I love it! My tree images are from the new Totally Trees set and is stamped in Emerald Envy and Early Espresso. My star (also from Totally Trees) is heat embossed in gold. The sentiment is from Flurry of Wishes, which was in last year’s A/W catalogue and carried over, which I’m thrilled about as it’s a brilliant and versatile set. It’s stamped in Real Red.
So there you are – quick and easy but striking, I think! Hope you like it.
See you on Thursday for CAS Colours & Sketches. There’s still time to enter this week’s colour challenge if you get your skates on!
