Quick and simple “Thinking of You”

Hello!

Welcome to the weekend!  I hope you are having a good one.  I’m planning some crafting this weekend – my pre-order arrived this week and I can’t wait to play with the new goodies I’ve got.  There will be more sneak peeks coming your way, but don’t forget that the new catalogue goes live on 1st June, so not too much longer to wait before you can buy for yourself.  Of course, if you can’t wait that long you could always sign up as a demo – I’d love to welcome you to my team and there’s no need for you to be local.

On to today’s card.  As you’ll know, I’m on a mission to use up DSP and send more cards.  Today’s card is a very simple, multipurpose card thanks to the sentiment.

Clean and simple, Fruitstand DSP, #loveitchopit, #makeacardsendacard

My base is thick Whisper White – I’m thrilled that there’s a thick Very Vanilla coming in the new catalogue, although I do use Whisper White more.  My sister, Liz is even more excited as she prefers Very Vanilla!  I cut a piece of the gorgeous Fruit Stand DSP to cover two thirds of the base and adhered with tom bow.  Next I stamped the sentiment from Sheltering Tree (which I’m very pleased to say is carrying over) in Daffodil Delight.  I tied the ribbon (Hello Honey – retired, but I thought it went perfectly) from around the other side of the card front.  This means that when you open the card you see the ribbon but I decided I really didn’t mind – I like it, in fact!

To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – 2MY7DVKJ – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.

If your list adds up to £99 or more, consider signing up as a demo and joining my team of Crafting Maestros.  It’s a great deal – choose £130’s worth of products, pay £99 and no P&P. If you are interested and want my help  choosing your starter kit, just get in touch.  If you know what you want click on the “Join my team” button on the right and get started.

Finally, don’t forget we are taking bookings for our Summer Luxury Craft Retreat on Saturday 10th June See more about it here or on my Wiltshire Luxury Craft Retreats page.

See you on Wednesday!

Oh So Eclectic – another sneak peak

Hello!

I recently shared a card using the coming soon Oh So Eclectic stamp set and the new in colours. Today’s card uses both again.

Sneak Peek, In Colours, Thank You

I just love the two step stamps of the watermark style background paired with the detailed flower. Here, I used the gorgeous, I’m so excited I can’t bear it, Lemon Lime Twist (let’s just say I have a cardigan in this colour) paired with Fresh Fig.   I repeated the simple layout from before, but this time went with a one layer Thick Whisper White card and then stamped my sentiment from Thankful Thoughts in Fresh Fig cut out with then layering oval framelits , layered onto a larger Stitched Oval framelit in Fresh Fig.  You’ll notice that I stamped off the Lemon Lime Twist backgrounds apart from one, for contrast.  I glued the ovals together and then popped them up using dimensionals. And that’s it!

Using up my DSP mountain

Hello! You’ll know from some recent posts that I have a lot of DSP that I’ve hoarded.  In some places it might be described as a mountain.  Thanks to my upline Eimear for her challenge this week – to make 10 cards using DSP and to send them.  #loveitchopit, right?

Today’s card is one of quite a few that I’ve made and you know what?  They are quick and easy, like super quick and they are gorgeous!  How could they not be with the DSP taking centre stage?

IMG_1853 cr

This beautiful DSP is called Fruit stand and it’s not only still available but it’s a total steal at £8.  All DSP retires at the end of the annual catalogue so if you want it you need to grab it now.

My sentiment is from the You’re So Sweet stamp set, which coordinates with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, both of which have carried over to the new catalogue.  I haven’t used them nearly enough so I’m thrilled I get to use them both for another year!  The sentiment is cut out using one of the coordinating thinlits.  I stamped my sentiment in Old Olive and used that for my card base and flash below my sentiment.  And that’s it! Very quick and simple but really elegant and fun too.  I’ve really been making inroads into my DSP this week and I encourage you to do the same – there’s a lot of beautiful DSP in the new catalogue you are going to want to make room for!

That’s it for today.  Like it?  To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – 2MY7DVKJ – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.

You’re Just Lovely sneak peak

Hello!

I had a lovely long weekend with time for lots of crafting!  I planned projects for our upcoming retreat on June 10th, played with new products, made in-colour bookmarks to send out to my customers with their catalogues and also started working on a challenge set by my upline Eimear – to create and send 10 cards using our stashes of DSP!  I have a lot of DSP and was surprised at how much fun I had cutting and using it!  We demos are renowned for looking at it, stroking it and saving it but not actually using it!  Those cards will feature soon.  But today I want to share a Thank You card I created.  My recipient won’t get it until tomorrow but I’m confident she doesn’t look at my blog so I’m safe to share it!

I *love* the new in-colours and I think you are going to, too.  For the first time, I love all of them and can’t wait to have some classes featuring them.  I also used the new stamp set Oh So Eclectic and although I was a bit ho-hum about to to start with, it has really grown on me.  So versatile and the two-stamp flowers are gorgeous.

IMG_1826 cr

My base is thick Whisper White, with a skinny Berry Burst mat surrounding the top layer of Whisper White.  I stamped the background stamp first, in Powder Pink, with the outline stamp on top in Berry Burst.  The sentiment from the same set is stamped in Berry Burst – both these are new in-colours.  I used a Thank You sentiment inside.  This is a quick and easy but elegant card, and straightforward to reproduce.  It looks great as a one layer card too.

A hint for lining your flower stamps up – this is a clear mount set but I really didn’t want to use the stamp-a-ma-jig – too fiddly and time-consuming for this card.  I discovered that the rubber outline of the detailed stamp marries up to the larger background shape, making it easy to align them.

Hope you like it and it whets your appetite for all the wonderful new things coming soon!  And don’t forget we are taking bookings for our Summer Luxury Craft Retreat on Saturday 10th June.  See more about it here or on my Wiltshire Luxury Craft Retreats page.

See you at the weekend!

Made for Men with Stampin Creative

stampin_creative_header_06

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop!  You may have arrived from Eimear or started here, either way, I’m very glad you’ve stopped by.  You’ll already have been inspired by Eimear’s projects, now grab a coffee and hop around with us for this month’s theme of “Made for Men”.

This month’s theme fits in very well with a challenge from Eimear, who is my upline as well as being a friend and another member of this blog hop!  We were challenged to make a masculine card without using a masculine stamp set, which was a great challenge for me as I don’t actually have any overtly masculine stamp sets and was scratching my head for this!

My card also features a couple of new products from the upcoming annual catalogue as I couldn’t resist them!

Birthday Bright, Sneak peek, masculine,

The base is Early Espresso with a layer of Very Vanilla.  I cut a piece of the new Wood Textures DSP stack into strips of differing widths and layered those together.  I added a simple knotted piece of the new Copper Trim ribbon and adhered that to the DSP with snail.  Next I created the glossy sentiment by rubbing embossing buddy over another piece of Very Vanilla, then stamping the sentiment stamps from Birthday Bright (retiring but still available) in Versamark followed by Early Espresso, adding clear embossing powder and heating.  I love the effect that gives!  I cut it out using the stitched framelit dies and popped it up with dimensionals.

And that’s it!  Like it?  To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – 2MY7DVKJ – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.

Now onto Louise at Stampin’ Delight, for some more masculine inspiration!

See you on Wednesday.

Blog Hop List

Envelope punch board box

Hello!

I’ve been trying to post this since yesterday morning – technical hitches challenged me!

I’m not sure where Sunday went – in a whirl of seeing people, laundry and my parents-in-law coming over to finish off my new crafting storage – pictures of that will follow!  I also made team night swaps using new catalogue product but I won’t be sharing those for a while – for now I’m going to be focussing on existing current product.

My recent posts have been about the cards I’ve made as a prize for a friend – here are the three designs:

They need a snazzy container though, right?  Something to make them look professional. I knew I wanted to make a deep envelope shape for this and rather than re-inventing the wheel, I went looking for a template online.  Joanne James, aka The Crafty Owl, had exactly what I was looking for on her website – you put in the dimensions you want and her nifty Box Buster tells you everything you need to know.  Thanks Joanne!

Here’s the box I put my cards in.  This DSP is in the annual catalogue and retires at the beginning of June.  All retiring products are “while stocks last” so if you want something, move fast – lots of things are sadly already sold out!

Like it?  To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – UDS3QBUK – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.

Just a note – variation

Hello!

Today’s card is a variation (or CASE) on a challenge card I made about a year – the link is here.  I offered to donate a prize for a raffle and decided to make a variety of notecards in a box.  You’ve already seen one – the card to use up DSP and this was the second.  I simply added more colour to change it up:

IMG_1802 copyright

The sentiment is from the Watercolour Wishes stamp set and the butterfly stamps (outline and full shape) are from Garden in Bloom – both sets are carrying over to the new catalogue I’m very glad to say!  I stamped the outlines in Smoky Slate and then added colour from bottom left as follows:  Cucumber Crush, Island Indigo, Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum.  All quite jewel-like and suitable for butterflies, I thought!  The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.

That’s it!  Like it?  To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – UDS3QBUK – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.
