Embossing paste Christmas chimney

Hello!

I’m back with my final Christmas card using embossing paste, from a recent technique class.  Local to Swindon and fancy joining me for a technique class in the New Year?  Click on “Get in touch” above and let me know!

Today’s card uses one of the Pattern Party Decorative masks, this time the brick pattern.

I started off by applying embossing paste over the brick mask, to add a vertical strip down the right hand side of the Real Red layer.  I quickly sprinkled silver embossing paste over the top, tapping the back to remove the excess powder.  I left this to dry, as the embossing paste puffs up if you apply heat when wet and I didn’t want that look here.  I took the sentiment from Watercolor Christmas and after brushing embossing buddy on a piece of Whisper White, stamped it first into Versamark then immediately into Real red ink and then stamped on the card stock.  I then heat embossed with clear embossing powder and the cut it out using the Layering Circle thinlits.  Next I heat embossed the embossing paste and then I constructed the card.  I used thick Whisper White for the card base and adhered the Real Red layer onto it, after I tied a bow around it using Whisper White Sheer Ribbon.  I slotted the sentiment circle under the bow and adhered directly to the Real Read layer.

That’s it!  I hope your Christmas preparations are coming along smoothly and that you have a wonderful festive season to look forward to.

See you next weekend.

Embossing paste Christmas!

Hello,

I promised another card from my embossing paste technique class and here it is!

The base is Cherry Cobbler and there’s a skinny Basic Black border underneath the top layer.  I used the circular mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks (annual catalogue) and applied the white embossing paste and quickly sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on top, before it dried.  I cut a partial circle out of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and added it to the bottom right corner of the Whisper White layer.  I stamped the sentiment from Flurry of Wishes in Cherry Cobbler and used the Triple Banner punch on one end.  I popped the banner up on dimensionals.

I love this card with all its sparkle – hope you do too!

See you next weekend – I’ve got one more embossing paste Christmas card to show you!
