Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop!  If you’ve arrived from Pip or have started here, you are very welcome.  I know Pip will have shared something gorgeous, especially as she recently reached a career milestone and I know she feels thankful!

I was really pleased when the team decided on this month’s theme of “Feeling Thankful”.  Right now, I have a lot to be thankful for.  I’m especially thankful that my sister Liz’s cancer was found early enough to treat and that the amazing advancements in modern medicine mean that she is being treated successfully (she lives in the US).  She’s recently had scans which show her tumour is reducing – her oncologist said that the results were very positive.  And last week, MRI scans showed that there are no spots on her brain, thanks to the radiotherapy she had several months ago – the best possible outcome.  So, massive celebrations all around!  On top of that, I fly out tomorrow morning to spend a week with Liz and Martin (my brother).  It will be brilliant to see them –   it’s hard being so far away when something like this is happening.  I’m also thankful that my dad spent a few days here this week.  He has spent a lot of the last few months in the States, not surprisingly, so we’ve not seen much of each other. It was lovely to spend some time with him and try to spoil him a bit.

So, onto my card!  Given the theme, I just had to reach for the Painted Harvest set.  I wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few of us did!  I intended to use the sunflower as part of my design but I couldn’t find the centre stamp (found it now, of course!) and actually I’m really pleased with how this ended up – I had to think outside the box a little.

Painted Harvest, Stampin' Creative, Thankful, Grateful

My base is Cajun Craze and I’ve stamped on Very Vanilla using Old Olive for the leaves – where I added detail, that was Old Olive too.  The acorns are stamped in Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry, all very Autumnal!  I heat embossed the sentiment in copper and used the triple banner punch on one end, then backed it with Cajun Craze.  I popped the sentiment up on dimensionals.  Finally, I added a few sneak peeks to the envelope – you want people to know it’s a hand stamped card, right?

Next up is Gina – I know she’ll have something beautiful to share with us.  Click on the button below to hop to her, or these’s a full list of our links at the bottom of the post.

See you soon for another Christmas card and next month for the next hop.  Thanks for joining us today – I hope you have things to be thankful for today.
