Stampin’ Creative blog hop – CASE Lyssa Zwolanek

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop.  If you have arrived from Lyssa, you know how lucky we are to be CASEing her!  If you have started here you are very welcome too. This month we have a very exciting theme!  As I’ve said, we are CASEing Lyssa Zwolanek, who is a wonderful American demo.  Even better, she is taking part in our blog hop today, so make sure you check what she has come up with too.

I had a lot of fun deciding what to choose to CASE (copy and share everything, that is).  You can take anything as inspiration, so the layout, style, stamp set, colours – anything, really.  I loved this card that Lyssa recently posted on her blog:

I took my inspiration from the metallics and the awesome idea she had to use strips of washi tape for extra effect.  I decided to use the same gorgeous metallic washi along with the Detailed Dragonfly framelit dies:

Sadly, I just don’t seem to be able to capture how lovely this looks in real life, thanks to all that metallic shininess.  I used the new champagne metallic foil cardstock as the background for my sparkly dragonfly and used the matching sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, which I heat embossed in copper.  My base is thick Whisper White.  I *love* Lyssa’s card and I hope I’ve done it justice.  Next up we have the wonderful Eimear – click on the button below to hop to her page.  There’s also a full list of our links below, in case you get lost.

See you soon – next weekend, I hope!

Christmas Sweaters – clean and simple

I recently did some business training and one of the things we had to do in advance was a creative share – all the attendees made one so we all got to take away 14 or so project ideas along with instructions, great for ready made classes!

I was asked to design a class for beginners.  We all used product from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and I decided to feature the Christmas Sweaters stamp set.  This was one I just had to get, even though I wasn’t sure how versatile it would be.  But in the end I found it easy to come up with four different ideas.

This is the first card I designed – I always like to include a one layer card in my classes, as it’s a nice easy introduction for people that don’t have much crafting experience – no tricky gluing of layers to contend with!

Christmas Sweaters

I stamped the two sweaters in Emerald Envy and Real Red.  I stamped the sentiment in Versamark followed by Real Red and then heat embossed in clear. That’s it!  A nice quick and simple design, easy for a beginner or as part of a stamp-a-stack.

See you next Saturday for the Stampin’ Creative blog hop.
