Made for Men with Stampin Creative

stampin_creative_header_06

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop!  You may have arrived from Eimear or started here, either way, I’m very glad you’ve stopped by.  You’ll already have been inspired by Eimear’s projects, now grab a coffee and hop around with us for this month’s theme of “Made for Men”.

This month’s theme fits in very well with a challenge from Eimear, who is my upline as well as being a friend and another member of this blog hop!  We were challenged to make a masculine card without using a masculine stamp set, which was a great challenge for me as I don’t actually have any overtly masculine stamp sets and was scratching my head for this!

My card also features a couple of new products from the upcoming annual catalogue as I couldn’t resist them!

Birthday Bright, Sneak peek, masculine,

The base is Early Espresso with a layer of Very Vanilla.  I cut a piece of the new Wood Textures DSP stack into strips of differing widths and layered those together.  I added a simple knotted piece of the new Copper Trim ribbon and adhered that to the DSP with snail.  Next I created the glossy sentiment by rubbing embossing buddy over another piece of Very Vanilla, then stamping the sentiment stamps from Birthday Bright (retiring but still available) in Versamark followed by Early Espresso, adding clear embossing powder and heating.  I love the effect that gives!  I cut it out using the stitched framelit dies and popped it up with dimensionals.

And that’s it!  Like it?  To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – 2MY7DVKJ – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.

If your list adds up to £99 or more, consider signing up as a demo and joining my team of Crafting Maestros.  It’s a great deal – choose £130’s worth of products, pay £99 and no P&P. If you are interested and want my help  choosing your starter kit, just get in touch.  If you know what you want click on the “Join my team” button on the right and get started.

Finally, don’t forget we are taking bookings for our Summer Luxury Craft Retreat on Saturday 10th June See more about it here or on my Wiltshire Luxury Craft Retreats page.

Now onto Louise at Stampin’ Delight, for some more masculine inspiration!

See you on Wednesday.

Blog Hop List

Envelope punch board box

Hello!

I’ve been trying to post this since yesterday morning – technical hitches challenged me!

I’m not sure where Sunday went – in a whirl of seeing people, laundry and my parents-in-law coming over to finish off my new crafting storage – pictures of that will follow!  I also made team night swaps using new catalogue product but I won’t be sharing those for a while – for now I’m going to be focussing on existing current product.

My recent posts have been about the cards I’ve made as a prize for a friend – here are the three designs:

They need a snazzy container though, right?  Something to make them look professional. I knew I wanted to make a deep envelope shape for this and rather than re-inventing the wheel, I went looking for a template online.  Joanne James, aka The Crafty Owl, had exactly what I was looking for on her website – you put in the dimensions you want and her nifty Box Buster tells you everything you need to know.  Thanks Joanne!

Here’s the box I put my cards in.  This DSP is in the annual catalogue and retires at the beginning of June.  All retiring products are “while stocks last” so if you want something, move fast – lots of things are sadly already sold out!

Just a note – variation

Hello!

Today’s card is a variation (or CASE) on a challenge card I made about a year – the link is here.  I offered to donate a prize for a raffle and decided to make a variety of notecards in a box.  You’ve already seen one – the card to use up DSP and this was the second.  I simply added more colour to change it up:

The sentiment is from the Watercolour Wishes stamp set and the butterfly stamps (outline and full shape) are from Garden in Bloom – both sets are carrying over to the new catalogue I’m very glad to say!  I stamped the outlines in Smoky Slate and then added colour from bottom left as follows:  Cucumber Crush, Island Indigo, Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum.  All quite jewel-like and suitable for butterflies, I thought!  The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.

That’s it!  Like it?  To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – UDS3QBUK – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.

Quick and easy card – use up your DSP stash

Hello!

So, us demos have all the excitement of a new catalogue to drool over and trust me, its great, but for now don’t overlook the existing Spring/Summer catalogue.  Lots of things are retiring, some are carrying over and if you love something you should be checking into it now – anything that’s on the retiring list is only available while things last and they are flying off the shelves.  The other thing to mention is that all bundles also retire, even if the individual elements are carrying over, so if you want to save 10%, again, you’ll need to move fast.

Today’s card is a quick and easy card, designed to help you use up your DSP stash – admit it, you have a pile of loved and unused DSP you like to look at but can’t bring yourself to cut or use.  Well, you need to!  You need room for the gorgeous new paper coming in the new catalogue!  So be brave and arm yourself with your trimmer or scissors and make some lovely cards.  And as we were reminded at last week’s Stampin’ Up! OnStage event, make a card, send a card.

Fruit Stand DSP, quick and easy, Dragonfly Dreams

My base is thick Whisper White, half a sheet of A4 (297 x 105mm) and scored at 148.5mm.  If you’re making more than one card it’s faster to score the full sheet of A4 and then cut into two bases.  Because I was making more than one card, I cut the DSP into the same size as the card once folded, so 148.5 x 105mm and then cut it in half on the diagonal.  Next I glued the DSP onto the base with tom bow (liquid glue) and then stamped the sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams (carrying over, I’m very pleased to say) in Watermelon Wonder.  Quick and simple!

Like it?  To place an order just click on the “Shop with Me” button to the right and don’t forget to use the host code – UDS3QBUK – if your order is less than £150 to receive an extra gift from me.  Over £150 don’t use it as you’ll get the rewards to spend and you’ll still get the gift from me.

Finally, don’t forget we are taking bookings for our Summer Luxury Craft Retreat on Saturday 10th June and if you sign up before 10pm tomorrow evening we’ll give you two mini beauty treatments for the price of one!  See more about it here or on my Wiltshire Luxury Craft Retreats page.

See you on Wednesday.

Sunday’s post for Wednesday – BINGO!

Hello!

So life tripped me up again, what can I say? I really am trying to post my blogs when I say I will – last week I even managed an extra one for the last day of Sale-a-bration but then I missed my Sunday post! So here I am, grovelling but with an exciting announcement!

I’m not sure how far you are prepared to travel for BINGO but that’s what this post is about – my Stampin’ Up! BINGO night, on Thursday 20th April. Not only will there be at least six games, all with fab Stampin Up! goodies as prizes but there will be a cheeseboard (the team I’m part of love cheese!), hot cheese dip (we had this at a recent team night and I had to get the recipe from Abigail – it’s amazing!) drinks and other refreshments and (yes, there’s more) you get to make two cards to take away with you. All this for £25 – the prizes are going to be good – which includes a £5 voucher for any orders placed on the night.

So if you are local to me (Swindon), get in touch to book your place, it’s going to be a great night.

bingo

Tomorrow I’m off to OnStage, the Stampin’ Up! convention.  The main event is in Amsterdam this time and I can’t wait!  Even better, my sister is coming over from New Jersey to attend, so we get to spend time together too.  So expect my Sunday post to feature tulips, cheese and photos of people having a fun time together – I can’t post any sneak peeks until Monday!
