Hello!

It’s a new year and we have fresh new images to go with it!  Hope you like them!  Whether you’ve arrived from the wonderful Louise or started your hop here, you are very welcome.  I hope you like what we’ve got for you today.

This month our theme is Wildlife – when I found that out I decided straightaway that I would use the Dragonfly Dreams set for my card – it was a must-have for me as soon as I saw the new Spring/Summer catalogue!

My card is actually a stepped up version of the last card I posted, designed for a recent card class.  If you want to see the original version, click here to see the post.  Today’s card is still pretty simple but it has added bling and texture – not words you often hear me saying!

Dragonfly Dreams

My base is thick Whisper White and the dragonflies are stamped in Smoky Slate, with the solid body in Island Indigo, stamped off once as I didn’t want to completely cover up all the detail underneath.  The wings have been given shimmer using the clear Wink of steals brush.  The sentiment is also in Island Indigo.  No change so far!  Next I cut the dragonfly wing out of vellum using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies and the Big Shot and added clear Wink of Stella for a gossamer effect.  I stuck that to the central, complete dragonfly using glue dots at the top of the body and then finished it off with five tiny rhinestones (the ones that are connected) for added sparkle!

That’s it from me today – hope you like it.  Click on the next button below to hop to Gina.  There’s also a full list of all today’s blogs below.

Dragonfly Dreams

Hello!

I’m not quite sure how my posting habit has suddenly gone rusty, but I have a card to share with you today – one of the make & takes from my recent launch parties. We had a lot of fun and if you missed it, just get in touch – I can bring the launch party fun to you, assuming you live in or near Swindon! I will be posting on Wednesdays and at the weekends from now on so I look forward to seeing you here.

This card is simple but effective, I think. For those of us that need a lot of birthday cards (and I do), it’s quick to make but it’s an elegant card that people like to receive. Speaking of receiving birthday cards, if you’d like to receive a handmade card from me on your birthday please get in touch. There’s no catch -the worst that will happen is you’ll receive a free class pass as well as your card!

Dragonfly Dreams
This is a one layer card made using the thick whisper white cardstock, which I love. I didn’t make one layer cards before this came along! Firstly I stamped the sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams in Island indigo. I then stamped the detailed dragonfly body from the same stamp set smoky slate ink, then stamped the body with Island Indigo, stamped off once. Finally, I coloured the wings in with the clear Wink of Stella pen, to add glimmer and shine. Because it’s translucent, you still see all the beautiful detail

That’s it, I hole you like it! See you on Wednesday for my second make & take.
