Curvy Santa boxes

I’m giving up trying to stop posting Christmas things – it just seems to be where my head is at the moment!

I made lots of these boxes last year and probably posted about them (I haven’t checked!) but this year’s are slightly different and it’s good to have a reminder of how cute they are, to say nothing of how versatile the curvy keepsake box thinlits are.

In a moment of madness I sold my retired Mosaic punch, which meant I had to find a new way to create the belt buckle – fortunately my lovely upline Eimear reminded me you can use two circles.  These circles are both framelits and I can’t actually remember which sets I pulled them from – there are plenty to choose from and there are suitable punches too.  The boxes are Real Red, with Basic Black and Gold Glimmer paper forming the belt.  The buttons are enamel shapes made black with a sharpie (again, these are retired but there are in-colour embellishments that would work.  The sentiment is from a retired but very useful set (I love that sentiment!) and is stamped in Real Red on Whisper White, then cut out using the Layering Ovals smallest framelit.  It is tied on with again, retired gold thread.  I don’t often post with so many retired items, but all of the things I’ve used could easily be replaced with current products.

I’m making these for a friend to sell at a craft fair and whilst I was constructing I accidentally put one together differently.  I’ve always preferred the box on the right, but she preferred my “mistake”.  So the rest of them look like that and I’ve come to love the framing that the box edges give.

Hope you like it!

See you on Sunday.

  1. I love them and actually I think I prefer the round buckle. I really like the framing that the box edge gives to it as well – it makes Santa look a little trimmer. The one on the right appears a few stone heavier! Liz x
