Acorny Nuts about You

I finally managed to drag myself away from Christmas cards and have gone Autumnal, more appropriately!  I love the Autumn, especially seeing the leaves change colour.  My brother and sister live in New Jersey and I’ve been lucky enough to see the Autumn leaves there a few times, which are just stunningly beautiful.  Anyway, Autumn colours inspired my card today but I’d have to admit it’s not a patch on fall in New England!

I’ve had this gorgeous photopolymer stamp set, Acorny Thank You, for a while now, but not used it.  Today it practically jumped off the shelf in its keenness to be used!  My base is Early Espresso, with a skinny Cajun Craze border around a Very Vanilla top layer.  I don’t use Very Vanilla that often but it really works here.  My acorns are stamped in Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Crushed Curry.  I intended to stick with the Regals colour family as they are the most Autumnal to me, but Old Olive just worked better here.  I started out by stamping the “Nuts about You” acorn on the Very Vanilla mat but I wanted more depth.  So I stamped it again on a scrap, punched out using the Acorn Builder punch and once I’d constructed my card layers using tom bow I popped it up on dimensionals.  I think it works much better that way.

Hope you like it!

See you on Thursday.
