Thursdays don’t half come round fast when you are struggling with card inspiration for CAS Colours & Sketches! Karen has given us a brilliant minimalist sketch which for some reason has had me scratching my head and quite frankly wondering what on earth I was going to come up with. Once again, the power of the deadline has inspired me. Breathes massive sigh of relief. Here’s the sketch:
The curve really had me thinking. I went and stood in front of my stampsets and hoped for inspiration. And luckily for me, Totally Trees was there. I took the “ground” stamp and curved it and had the required element for the sketch! Then it was a case of choosing my trees, deciding on placement and flowers and then finally the sentiment. It’s from the Weather Together set, one I’ve not used much as yet. I went for a single layer card, my go to at the moment, especially for CAS cards. My colours are Old Olive for the hill, Chocolate Chip for the tree trunks and branches and stamped off Old Olive, Tip Top Taupe and Melon Mambo for the colour highlights.
I have to admit that in re-visiting the requirements I noticed that Karen has asked for a curved layer. I don’t have time to re-make my card, but if I did, I woud simply have a curved layer of white and stamp my green hill on it and proceed as before. I’ll try to post that version later on. In the meantime, you’ll just have to imagine it’s there!
Hope you like it – see you on Sunday.
