Homemade DSP for CAS Colours & Sketches

We have a new hostess at CAS Colours and Sketches – Bev, who also joined the Design Team this year.  She has got some great challenges for us and this week it’s a colour challenge:

Like some other members of the DT, these colours immediately made me think of flowers:

I’ve had the Love & Affection stampset from the new catalogue for a while (since Onstage) but hadn’t used it much and I decided it needed to be showcased.  I made my own DSP by stamping the large flower outlines in Rose Red and the small in Blushing Bride on Very Vanilla. The centres are in Rose Red and So Saffron and I also added some little flower flourishes.  I cut a strip and I liked and then constructed my card.  The sentiment is from the same set  – a nice cheerful and friendly one, I thought, esepcially stamped in Rose Red.  The base is Rose Red, with a mat of Very Vanilla and top layer of So Saffron.  I deliberately made my DSP the same depth as the Very Vanilla layer, so it overhangs the So Saffron for a little bit of a difference.

That’s it! Hope you like it!  Come and have a look at the rest of the Design Team’s card and give this a go yourself – we love seeing what you create.

See you on Sunday.
