I went to Onstage last month and made my first ever shaker card. For someone that really struggled with dimensionals in the beginning, I am very proud that I made one and even more that I really liked it! In my pre-order, I made sure I had the sprinkles punch and the Confetti Celebration stampset, along with the windows sheets and brand new foam adhesive strips. I was very pleased to see CAS on Sunday’s challenge this week – Sparkle – because I thought it was my perfect opportunity to make a shaker card:
I also decided to use a couple of the new in-colours, so it’s a real sneak peek. My base is Dapper Denim, with a Sweet Sugarplum top layer. I used my new punch to create the shaker elements in Gold and Blushing Bride and also cut a star out of the Gold. I used one of the star framelits (not retiring, hooray) to cut the top layer and used that as a mask on my base to place the adhesive foam. I rubbed versamark all over the card and edges of the foam to remove static and then added the glimmer sprinkles. I added dimensionals to the base and lined my top layer up and than pressed down gently to adhere. I stamped “Let’s Celebrate” from the same stampset in Dapper Denim on Whisper White. I cut it out using the banner framelit from the treat bag framelit dies and two more from Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum and layered them together. Finally I put it all together with tombow as usual.
Hope you like it! See you on Thursday.
