Punch art fish for CAS Colours & Sketches

Hello!

Today it’s my last challenge of the month for CAS Colours & Sketches and it’s a sketch challenge:

sketch 175

I haven’t had much experience with designing sketches so I tried to keep it simple with both of mine for my month as hostess.  I will admit that I’ve had an idea for this layout in my head for a few weeks now and have been looking forward to sharing it!

I made the fish out of Island Indigo and Crushed Curry using a combination of punches – the balloon bouquet and the 1 1/4″ circle and I used my paper snips as well, to snip the ends off the balloons.  I added a black candy dot for an eye and used one of the stamps from Enjoy the Little Things to decorate the tail – I’m really going to miss this set – a collection of very versatile sentiments and patterns – I’d really recommend you snap one up from the retiring list.  For the other elements of the sketch I used gradually reducing circles and a heart using the owl and cupcake builder punches. I rarely use retired products but couldn’t resist the sentiment from Hi There.  I love how the circle mirrors the circle elements and the sentiment is really cute too.  I constructed it all on a Whisper White mat on base using tombow – my pick-me-up tool (not Stampin’ Up!) was invaluable for this!  Finally I put it together with a skinny black border and a base of Island Indigo.

That’s it – I hope you like it.  Have a look at the other Design Team cards and join in with us – we love to see your cards in the gallery.

See you on Saturday for the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop.

  1. This is a really fun card – I also love the little heart in the mix of the bubbles, it hadn’t occurred to me to use different shapes. If you need someone to send it to, I’m volunteering. 🙂 Liz x
