Farewell in colours for CAS Colours & Sketches

I’m very excited as this month it’s my turn to host the challenges at CAS Colours and Sketches! I joined the Design Team in January and have had a lot of fun and been stretched, producing a card each week. When I signed up to host the May challenges I didn’t think about the fact that it would be the month before the new catalogue would launch, and along with it, new in-colours, while the 2014-2016 in-colours would retire. I am really sad about losing these five colours, Lost Lagoon and Blackberry Bliss especially. I won’t miss what Blackberry Bliss does to my Stampin’ Scrub though! So what else could I do, but have a challenge to say farewell to those retiring in colours? Here’s this week’s banner:

I immediately thought of garden themes in response to this and decided to use the Garden in Bloom stampset, something I’m very glad is*not* retiring.  Here’s my card:

CC&S #172, Retiring In Colours, Garden in Bloom

I stamped the stems in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White cardstock, followed by the flower outlines and the cute bee in Archival Basic Black.  I completed the flowers in Tangelo Twist, stamping off once for some of them and completed the bee in Hello Honey.  This is a two (or three) step stampset!  Finally I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Hello Honey.  MY base is Mossy Meadow and brings it all together.

I hope you like today’s card! Due to some technical issues, my post got lost in the ether and I’ve had to quickly re-create it and post it.  So apologies if you got a blank space earlier on.  Do come and see what the rest of the Design Team have created – we’d love to see your cards for this challenge.
