Going Global for CAS Colours & Sketches

This week at CAS Colours & Sketches it’s the first double challenge of 2016 – a colour and sketch challenge combined!  Jane came up with this great combo for us:

double 167

I was a bit nervous about this one, seeing as just one of those can be tricky!  But, I settled quite quickly on what I wanted my card to look like:

World Traveller, Going Global, CC&S #167

I used my brayer to ink up the World Traveller TIEF with Pacific Point, then ran that through the Big Shot with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from Going Global in Daffodil Delight on South America – when I told my sister Liz (also on the design team, her blog is here), she said “Well, we are very grateful to them for coffee!” Trust me, we really do both love coffee!

I  trimmed the embossed image down slightly, then divided it into two pieces.  I backed it with a strip of Chocolate Chip as that was required by the sketch and then added a couple of mats.  The first time I tried this card I messed up my sentiment stamping and used a skinny white mat, which was a bit bland.  Second time around I used Daffodil Delight and liked it much better – it really makes things pop, I think!

Hope you like it – we’d love to see your take on this challenge.

Finally, it’s the very last day of Sale-a-bration today – it’s not too late to place an order and grab a freebie for every £45 spent.  To make up for the end of SAB for another year I’ll be introducing my own shopping rewards soon – watch this space!

  1. I really love the brayered embossing. I’ve finished my coffee so I think this may have just inspired me to go and get another cup… Liz x
