Today there’s a colour challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches:
I really like these colours and my my mind went to water and sand (I know, it’s a bit red!) although when I started to craft I didn’t start there. It turned out though, that my crafting mojo had gone on holiday, as I really stugggled. And the more I worried, the worse it got. Until I was reminded that I do this for fun and to relax (and get things into perspective). So, vaguely thinking about my original beach-ish theme, I started again and came up with this:
I have to say that it looks better in real life, as there’s a real sense of perspective leading your eye into the distance. I scribbled the three colours onto a block and spritzed it and smoothed White Shimmer card over it, using my brayer to ensure even contact. I spritzed again, then put it under some grid paper to dry. I stamped the flower image from Butterfly Basics and the leaves and “Thank You” from What I Love (if you love this set like I do, you can get it free with a purchase of £45 during Sale-a-bration) in Night of Navy. I lined the sentiment up with the line of the two blues to emphasize the perspective. I added a mat of Watermelon Wonder and a Night of Navy base and constructed it all using tombow.
A bit different for me – I’m having a lot of fun with watercolouring and other techniques at the moment!
If you like this or the colours, have a look at the rest of the Design Team entries and enter this week’s challenge – we love seeing what people come up with.
