Stampin’ Creative February blog hop

Hello and welcome!

You may have arrived here from the wonderful Louise or started here, either way, thanks for dropping in to see today’s blog hop.

Our theme today is “Wonderful Women” – anything from mums to sisters to aunts to best friends – you name it, we’ve got it covered!

If you read my blog regularly you’ll know I lost my mum last year.  And while I have a fantastic mother-in-law, I decided to make my card for my aunt, my mum’s sister Jill.  I’m very lucky to have an excellent relationship with her although it has suffered from geographical distance of late (I now live in Swindon, she moved to Northern Scotland).  But, we strengthened our bond again in the Autumn and I know I’ll be seeing her again soon.  I’ve always thought my aunt was awesome, so this card was an easy one:

Remarkakable You, Rich Razzleberry, Watermelon Wonder

My base is Rich Razzleberry and the top layer is Whisper White framed with a skinny Basic Black mat.  I stamped the flowers from Remarkable You (Annual Catalogue) in archival Basic Black although I quickly remembered it should have been Stazon, officially!  No matter, this worked.  If I’d had it, I would have stamped on the White Glimmer paper for that little bit of sheen.  But, I like this!  I used my acqua painters and Rich Razzleberry and Watermelon Wonder to colour in the flowers and then stamped the sentiment (also from Remarkable You) in Rich Razzleberry.  I tried a Watermelon Wonder base but it just didn’t work.

To finish off, I stamped this inside:

The sentiment on the front works fine on its own, but this finished my feelings off perfectly.

Next up is Pip.  I know she will have produced something gorgeous!  Click on the button below to go straight to her blog post.  If you get lost, there’s a full list of all our blogs at the bottom.

  1. Great card, love the pop of Watermelon wonder on the end – great combination. Another set I don’t have, but I love it with with these colours… Could very well be tempted!!

  2. I love this set. I really like how the water lilies (?) are off the bottom of the card leaving all that beautiful white space. Nice colour combination too. Love it. Liz x

  3. I have to agree with Pip … This is for sure the Standout creation from this month’s Hop. I absolutely love the simplicity, but the beautiful bold colours. Gorgeous! x
