Birthday Balloon Celebration

Hello!

Today’s card is one I came up with for my “Fantastic Four” class yesterday.  I had a full house as five lovely ladies came along to make four birthday cards.  Birthdays are very much in my mind at the moment, partly because we have lots in our family at this time of year, including the brand new arrival of our first niece, Daisy Rae.  Congratulations to Dan and Kelly!  Birthdays are also on my mind as lots of people are getting involved with #imbringingbirthdaysback. The idea behind it is to get back into sending real birthday cards.  The hardcore devotees offer to send a birthday card to anyone that signs up, wherever they are!  As I struggle with getting my existing list done, I’m just offering to send a card to any class attendees that want to sign up – I have an additional three people on my list now!

So today’s card:

Balloon Celebration, It's My Party DSP

This is a nice easy one, aside from the placement of the balloon stings.  They need to be low enough that the balloons still have some white space above them, but high enough to allow the sentiment some room too.  It just takes a little thought.  My base is Melon Mambo, with a Whisper White mat.  I stamped the strings in Basic Grey and the sentiment in Melon Mambo, both from the Balloon Celebration stampset (Spring/Summer catalogue).  I punched balloons out of different patterns of “It’s My Party” DSP using the balloon punch (buy the stamp set and punch as a bundle and get 15% off) and played around until I had a look I liked.  I did have some balloons left over!  I stuck four down and popped two up with dimensionals, to give a more 3D effect.  I don’t think that really shows in the photo above, so here’s another angle:

I’m really pleased with how this came out, hope you like it too!
