Thinking of You for CAS Colours & Sketches

Hello!

This week’s CAS Colours & Sketches challenge is a colour challenge and Stef has chosen three gorgeous colours:

CC&S color161-001

Now, I don’t know if I’ve read too many Georgette Heyer novels, but purple does have a tendency to make me think of sympathy cards, even though I love the colour.  Sadly, I need a sympathy card this week, so I came up with this:

Hopeful Thoughts, Work of Art, metallic heat embossing, Sympathy

The base is Elegant Eggplant, with a skinny Whisper White mat behind the top layer of Wisteria Wonder.  I did try a skinny Basic Black layer but it really made the overall effect too dark and sombre.  I stamped the tree in Versamark and added silver embossing powder.  A few seconds with the heat tool made it pop! I masked the edge beneath the tree and stamped part of the swoosh (well, that’s what I call it) from Work Of Art in Wisteria Wonder and finally stamped “Thinking of You” from Hopeful Thoughts in Elegant Eggplant by just inking up half of the stamp.

Simple but effective, I think.  Hope you like it.

  1. LOL. I guess I’ve read too many Georgette Heyer novels too because mine is a thinking of you card as well! I almost used wisteria wonder for my base also. It’s a lovely CAS card. Liz x

  2. Hello, gorgeous. I LOVE this card. (Sadly, I, too, could use a sympathy card this week, actually. It’s that time of year for the elderly.)

Anyway, I adore what you’ve done with the colors and I have to say that white frame is perfection.
