This weekend has had quite a focus on crafting – I had a class at home yesterday afternoon (four cards for £10 if you are local and fancy it sometime), which is always fun. I love sharing card making with people. Today it dawned on me that I have quite a few friend’s birthdays coming up (and have already missed a couple, oops) and so need to make some cards for them!
I bought the Watercolor Wards stamp set when the annual catalogue came out and I do love it. It has a mixture of sentiments and images and is perfect for putting quick and simple cards together. My card needs to work for both men and women so this influenced my colour choices and my design:
The base is Blackberry Bliss and the mat is Delightful Dijon (my new favourite rich yellow-gold). I stamped the star in Delightful Dijon, the heart in Blackberry Bliss stamped off once and the Happy Birthday in Blackberry Bliss, all on a Whisper White layer. I had plenty of choices for inside the card too, but I’m keeping that as a surprise, in case any of the recipients see this before their birthdays! All the stamps were from the Watercolor Words set – as I said, it’s very versatile.
Now I’m off to work on my card for the CAS Colours & Sketches next challenge, which goes live on Thursday. Don’t forget to check out the challenge and enter a card – the more the merrier!
Hope you like today’s card.
