Festival of trees for CC&S challenge #153

This week’s CC&S challenge asked us to take an old colour challenge from 2015 and “Christmas-fy” it.  Here’s the challenge banner:

I decided to use the following colours from challenge #133:

CC&S color133-001

Not completely traditional for Christmas – instead of red we have a vibrant pink and we have a turquoise filling in for green.  I paired Early Espresso with Lost Lagoon on one of last year’s cards, so this was a no brainer for me.

I started out playing with the delicate ornaments set but didn’t like how it was coming out, so I reverted to an old, although still current set, from last year – Festival of Trees.  I decided to use just one image from the set in the three colours.  Here’s my card:

The card base is Early Espresso, then a Whisper White mat followed by a Melon Mambo skinny mat.  I stamped the images in Early Espresso, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo and punched the out using the matching punch.  I stuck them on the top mat using tom bow to create some texture.

Hope you like it!

  1. The simple layers in different sizes frame the trees so nicely, and the Espresso card base “grounds” everything perfectly. Super job, Caro! Thanks for sharing your card in our Christmas Colours challenge at CC&S!
