Clean and simple for CAS Challenge #151

I’ve not posted as often as I’d like lately, but I was really thrilled that my last post won “a cut above” from the Paper Players – thanks to Jodi for selecting my card!

Inspired by this, and nudged on by my sister to apply to the design team (she is also entering as her style epitomises Clean and Simple), I’m entering the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge #151 which is a colour challenge:

CAS #151

I love this combination of colours but don’t think I would have put them together unprompted.  It’s great when that happens!

I’ll be honest, I’ve struggled with this card.  Not because of the colours, but I just seemed to have a bit of a block for a while.  I finally overcame it with this:

I love this pine frond stamp and the simple wreath it makes.  It took me a while to realise that what I needed to draw this together was one frond in Watermelon Wonder, rather than all of them in Lost Lagoon (which was just a bit bland).  Once I realised the card was done in minutes!  I cut out “peace” in a retired silver paper (which I really miss), then put it togther – Lost Lagoon card base, Watermelon Wonder mat and the stamping on Whisper White.

Hope you like it!

Come back on Saturday when I’m taking part in the monthly Stampin’ Creative blog hop – our theme this month is “Festive Frenzy” so I have lots of cards and projects to show you!

  1. Well, I think you’ve really rocked this challenge with the one frond of Watermelon Wonder. It is beautifully CAS. I am very happy that you decided that you did like my colour palette after all, thanks for playing along at CC&S and good luck with the DT call

  2. Hi, Caro! It’s good to see you joining us once again at CC&S. The pine image is a timeless classic and it looks fantastic formed into a wreath. I agree that the Watermelon frond gives the card just the right pop of color. Thanks so much for sharing your card with us!
