Retiring In Colours for Fab Friday

Today’s card is in response to the Fab Friday Challenge to use the outgoing in colours (all, or your choice).  Here’s the challenge banner:

Fab Fri 63

I recently took part in a blog hop that challenged us to do exactly the same (see that post here) and I wasn’t sure how to represent this initially.  I obviously went to bed with this on my mind as I woke up knowing the sentiment and framelit dies I would use!  I decided that as the colours are retiring that I would showcase other things that are retiring.  Things I will miss.  A lot.  I went with my three favourite colours of the five – Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana:

As is my (quirky) habit with square cards, I went with measurements in inches!

  • The base is Strawberry Slush and is 5×5 inches.
  • I used the (retiring) Window Frames and if the smallest is #1, the Whisper White layer is #2, Coastal Cabana #3 and Baked Brown Sugar #4.
  • I stamped the sentiment from (the retiring) Really Good Greetings in Coastal Cabana and then cut it out using the framelit and the Big Shot.  I thought the sentiment was very apt, given the short time left for these colours!
  • I cut a square 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 in Whisper White and then layered everything together with Tom Bow.

Hope you like it.

  1. The little layer of Whisper white behind the BBS layer really caught my eye! What a neat way to highlight this framelit shape! So sorry that these will be going too! They were just right for square cards! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
