Today’s card is an entry in CAS Colours and Sketches challenge 117. Here’s the sketch that inspired my card:
And here’s the card I made:
I decided to go with a square card (you don’t have to – the sketches are just there as inspiration) I chose a Melon Mambo base, and as is my habit with square cards (I still don’t know why!) created it in inches – this card is 5″ x 5″.
I added a Whisper White mat, followed by Daffodil Delight DSP from the All Abloom stack – my current favourite DSP. Originally the next layer was going to be the top one with the stamping but when I put the layers together before stamping I felt I needed something else to edge the stamped layer and make it pop. Black would have been too stark so I added a very narrow mat of Basic Grey.
I stamped the “Yay” from the Balloon Bash photopolymer stamp set in Melon Mambo and the stars from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp etc, which is also photopolymer. Photopolymers were new when the annual catalogue launched last year and I love them! Because they are clear you can see exactly where you are stamping, allowing for real accuracy and they seem less daunting for new stampers, I think.
Finally, I constructed my card using tombow. Hope you like it!
